During the Week FAQs

 

What should I bring?

Here are some basic items you may want to pack:
Instrument, Pencils, Mutes & Practice mutes, Tuner/metronome, Audition excerpts, Solo pieces you’ve been working on (for master classes), Chapstick, Sunscreen, Water bottle, Concert clothing, Comfortable walking shoes, Notebook, Spending money for lunch, dinners, private lessons, and exhibits.

What should I wear?

During the Day
Colorado is known for its laid back attitude and casual style. During the week, we hope you embrace this style as well. Wear what is comfortable for you during the day. Colorado is also known for its rapidly changing weather. Be prepared for anything by dressing in layers you can put on or take off during the day.


Performances
There will be participant recitals at the end of the week. Please be sure to bring your best concert black attire.
Men: Black button up shirt, black pants, dark socks, black shoes
Women: Dressy black slacks/skirts, black top/blouse, dark hose/socks, black shoes.

Are meals provided?

Participants staying in the dorm are provided breakfast. All participants are on their own for lunch and dinner. There are many affordable dining options surrounding the university. The institute will provide a Sunday evening welcome reception and a closing reception after the Summit Brass Finale Concert.
