      <image:caption>DAVID HICKMAN is founder and president of the Summit Brass, and owner of Hickman Music Editions. He served as president of the International Trumpet Guild, receiving the Award of Merit from the ITG for his lifetime of achievement and service to the world of trumpet. With over 2,000 solo appearances as a recitalist and guest soloist with nearly 500 orchestras, Hickman is considered one of the world’s pre-eminent trumpet virtuosos, touring Asia, Europe, Canada, Mexico, and virtually every major U.S. city. He has released 19 albums, over 40 articles, 100 editions of solos, and important trumpet and music texts published including Trumpet Pedagogy: A Compendium of Modern Teaching Techniques and The Piccolo Trumpet. His students have held or currently occupy leading positions in hundreds of the world’s most prestigious ensembles and universities.       <image:caption>JOHN MARCHIANDO is Associate Professor of Trumpet and Head of Brass at the University of New Mexico.       <image:caption>CHRIS COLETTI is an internationally acclaimed trumpeter. He is a well rounded soloist, orchestral, and chamber musician best known for his work with the Canadian Brass from 2009-2019.  Chris teaches at Ithaca College where he is Assistant Professor of Trumpet and Performance and is  Principal Trumpet of the Huntsville Symphony Orchestra.  Comfortable in many musical styles, he has performed with a broad spectrum of musicians ranging from the Metropolitan Opera Brass, New York Philharmonic Principal Brass, Pierre Boulez, Michael Tilson Thomas and Riccardo Muti to Quincy Jones, Carlos Santana, Gloria Estefan and Miami Sound Machine. Chris also performs on the Baroque Trumpet with various early music ensembles in and around NY. Chris regularly performs and records with NOVUS NY, the all-star contemporary music orchestra of Trinity Church Wall Street in Manhattan. Chris can be heard on 9 Canadian Brass recordings, most of which feature his original arrangements, and countless other recordings and music videos with world-class artists.       <image:caption>BRIAN WENDEL joined The Cleveland Orchestra as Principal Trombone in August of 2022, appointed by Franz Welser-Möst. He previously served as Principal Trombone of the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra (VSO) for five seasons, beginning in 2017. Enjoying the thrill of solo performances and competitions, he has appeared as a soloist with the Vancouver and Prince George Symphonies, Denver University Brass Ensemble, and the Juilliard Trombone Choir, and was winner of the Music International Grand Prix — Winds and Brass category (2021), Online Trombone Competition (2020), Alessi Seminar Asia Competition (2018) and two International Trombone Association competitions (2014 and 2016). He has also performed with the Seattle Symphony, Philadelphia Orchestra, New York Philharmonic, and New York Philharmonic Brass Ensemble. He received his bachelor’s degree from The Juilliard School under the mentorship of Joseph Alessi. Mr. Wendel is on faculty at the Cleveland Institute of Music, and is always excited to teach and perform in recital. He has worked with students at the Jacobs School of Music at Indiana University, The Juilliard School, Manhattan School of Music, Escola Superior de Música de Lisboa (Portugal), Hochschule Luzern (Switzerland), University of Colorado Boulder, Long Siew Tow Conservatory (Singapore), Denver University, National Youth Orchestra (USA), and University of British Columbia (UBC) School of Music, among others.       <image:caption>RICHARD HARRIS Whether its performing on OSCAR winning soundtracks such as “Joker” the GRAMMY award winning album “Twelve Little Spells” with Esperanza Spalding, or recording solo and chamber music CD’s, Richard Harris has crafted an eclectic musical career. As a soloist, chamber musician, orchestral performer, educator and advocate, his performances have taken him all across North &amp; South America, Europe and Asia. Richard is currently on faculty at the University of Denver, is the former Assistant Principal Trombone of the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra, and formerly an Associate member of the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra. He is a regular guest with many of the US’s top symphony orchestras, including the Boston Symphony, Seattle Symphony, Colorado Symphony, Buffalo Philharmonic and is a former member of the Radio City Music Hall Orchestra in New York City, where he has also performed with many other Broadway productions. Richard recorded with pop-star Sting on his first studio album in a decade and has performed and toured alongside a diverse range of musicians, such as, Rza, Puff Daddy, Snoop Dogg, Vince Mendoza, Natalie Cole, Seth McFarlane, Boyz II Men, Megan Hilty, Roseanne Cash, Bryce Dessner, Chris Botti and classical music stars Luciano Pavarotti and Andrea Bocelli.       <image:caption>ALLENE HACKLEMAN has been principal horn of the Edmonton Symphony Orchestra since 2004.  A native of Vancouver, B.C., Allene studied horn with Martin Hackleman and completed her undergraduate degree at the University of Cincinnati.  Ms. Hackleman has played with the Montréal and National (Washington, D.C.) Symphonies, as well as the National Arts Centre Orchestra, Calgary Philharmonic, Winnipeg Symphony and the Colorado Music Festival. She has performed concerti with the Edmonton Symphony, Alberta Baroque Ensemble, Red Deer Symphony and the Victoria Symphony. Allene is a member of the Canadian National Brass Project and the Summit Brass, and is on the most recent CD recordings with both groups. Allene enjoys chamber music and has been a guest artist at the Festival of the Sound, Ottawa Chamber Music Festival, Toronto Summer Music, Lanaudière Festival, the Edmonton Recital Society, and the Pender Harbour Chamber Music Festival. Allene has been a featured artist at the International Women's Brass conference in 2010, the Southeast Horn Workshop in 2023 as well as the International Horn Symposium in 2023.       <image:caption>SUSAN McCULLOUGH earned her bachelor’s degree in Horn Performance from Emporia State University. She was featured as Principal Horn and soloist with the Air Force Academy Band from 75-78, and served 22 years with the Colorado Springs Symphony Orchestra as 3rd and Principal Horn. Susan is a founding member of The Denver Brass and has been a featured soloist and clinician throughout the US as well as across the world. Susan has been featured at International Horn Symposiums since 2006 and at South African National Symposiums 2007 to the present. She has served on the Advisory Council of the International Horn Society since 2008. Susan can be heard on many CD recordings including her 2008 release, “It’s All Relative” with her son, Jesse McCormick. She performs with many of Colorado’s top ensembles including the Colorado Symphony, the Colorado Springs Philharmonic, and the Colorado Ballet. She has been on faculty at the Kendall Betts Horn Camp from 2021 to the present. Since 2009, she has been a member of the American Horn Quartet, touring six continents and appearing at major international festivals. A devoted chamber musician, she is a core member of Luxembrass and co-founder of the Virtuoso Horn Duo, with recordings on Naxos and MSR Classics. Former Vice President of the International Horn Society, she received its Punto Award for outstanding service to the global horn community.       <image:caption>GEOFFREY PILKINGTON was appointed principal horn of the Kennedy Center Opera House Orchestra in 2014, after ten years of holding the fourth horn position in the same orchestra. Pilkington completed his degree at The Juilliard School studying with Julie Landsman, and spent a year abroad at the Royal Academy of Music in London studying with Michael Thompson and Richard Watkins. In 2011, he joined the Harrisburg Symphony Orchestra as associate principal/third horn and was featured as a soloist, performing Schumann’s Konzertstuck for four horns and orchestra. An accomplished recitalist, Pilkington has been awarded grand prizes at the International Horn Competition of America, The Florida Orchestra Concerto Competition and the Royal Academy of Music in London. Additionally, he has performed with the National Symphony Orchestra, Metropolitan Opera, San Francisco Opera, Seattle Symphony Orchestra, Baltimore Symphony Orchestra, and as guest principal horn with the Philadelphia Orchestra. He was featured as a soloist in the 2016 Wagner Ring Cycles at the Kennedy Center, and has joined the San Francisco Opera for six complete Ring Cycles in 2011, and 2018. Pilkington met his wife, Kathryn, while they were studying at Juilliard. She is a founding member and co-artistic director of Washington, D.C.’s modern dance troupe, Company E, as well as a modern dance instructor at George Mason University. They live in Northern Virginia with their sons Gavin and Colin.</image:caption>

      <image:caption>MARTIN HACKLEMAN joined the University of Missouri-Kansas City Conservatory of Music and Dance as Artist in Residence and Associate Teaching Professor of Horn in Fall 2012. He began playing horn at 16, studying under Caesar LaMonaca, Barry Tuckwell, and Roland Berger (Vienna Philharmonic). At 19, he won the Principal Horn Chair with the Calgary Philharmonic and later joined the Vancouver Symphony as Solo Horn under Maestro Kazuyoshi Akiyama in 1974, playing there for nine years. In 1983, Hackleman became a member of the Canadian Brass, recording seven albums with CBS Masterworks and touring globally. He later joined the Empire Brass Quintet, balancing a solo career and working with Vienna and Natural Horns. With EBQ, he recorded five CDs. An advocate for music education, Hackleman published two horn étude books with BIM in Switzerland, which are required at prestigious institutions like the Royal Conservatory in London and the University of Michigan. He now collaborates with Steve Lewis’s Legacy Horn Experience and has been a juror for Canada Council competitions. He’s also taught at the University of Maryland, Boston University, and University of British Columbia, and worked extensively with youth orchestras and brass programs, including the Banff Centre and Summit Brass. Returning to Vancouver in 1989, Hackleman became Principal Horn of the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra and adjunct professor at UBC. In 1990, he co-launched “CURIO,” a CBC Radio chamber music series. In the 1999-2000 season, he played Principal Horn with the Montréal Symphony under Charles Dutoit, and in 2000, he joined the National Symphony at the Kennedy Center, remaining for 12 years. He also played with the Washington Symphonic Brass, recorded four CDs, and performed as guest Principal Horn with the Philadelphia Orchestra. Hackleman has recorded extensively with ensembles such as the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra, Montreal Symphony,National Symphony, Canadian Brass, Empire Brass, Summit Brass, All Star Brass, and Washington Symphonic Brass. His solo recordings include After a Dream, which are his own arrangements of music that had never been played on horn, and Romanza, a set of five lost Romantic concertos, and he has collaborated with his wife Kelly on the album Solitary Hotel. Now retired from UMKC, Hackleman resides in Kansas City with his wife Kelly and their two Mini Golden Doodles, Kenna and Duncan.</image:caption>

      <image:caption>BRIAN L. BOWMAN enjoys a distinguished career as a soloist, clinician, recording artist, educator and administrator. A Regents Professor of Music Emeritus in the College of Music at The University of North Texas, Professor Bowman organized and conducted the Brass Band of the University of North Texas. Dr. Bowman has held the principal euphonium position, in addition to being a featured soloist, in each of the bands he has been associated with: THE UNIVERSITY OF MICHIGAN SYMPHONY BAND, THE UNITED STATES NAVY BAND, THE UNITED STATES BICENTENNIAL BAND, THE UNITED STATES AIR FORCE BAND and THE RIVER CITY BRASS BAND.  He has performed as a soloist in all 50 states, Canada, Mexico, The Virgin Islands, Norway, Finland, Germany, Belgium, Holland, Great Britain, France, Italy, Columbia, Brazil, Switzerland, Australia, Japan, Taiwan, Tonga, Thailand and the People’s Republic of China.  His students occupy prominent positions in professional organizations worldwide including many in Washington, DC and other military bands.   He is the author of PRACTICAL HINTS FOR PLAYING THE EUPHONIUM/BARITONE HORN and his edition of the ARBAN COMPLETE METHOD is the only complete bass clef edition of this famous brass method.  In 1989 he was awarded the British Magazines “EUPHONIUM PLAYER OF THE YEAR”, and in 1995 was given the LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT AWARD from the Tubists Universal Brotherhood Association and at the 2010 ITEC, the Clifford Bevan Award for Meritorious Work in Low Brass Scholarship.  He is the only living euphoniumist to be included in the book TWENTIETH-CENTURY BRASS SOLOISTS by Michael Meckna. In 2016 The American Bandmaster Association bestowed upon him the EDWIN FRANKO GOLDMAN MEMORIAL given for those who have rendered conspicuous service in the interest of Bands and Band Music in America.   Currently residing in Arlington, Virginia, Dr. Bowman teaches each year at the Rafael Mendez Brass Institute, The International Tuba Euphonium Institute, and continues to travel worldwide giving workshops and guest solo performances.  He conducts the Brass Band of Northern Virginia.</image:caption>

      <image:caption>GAIL ROBERTSON has a distinguished reputation as a euphonium artist, teacher, and clinician. She has garnered worldwide attention for leadership, her work as composer/arranger, and as a musical-talent. Robertson serves as Associate Professor of Tuba-Euphonium at the University of Central Arkansas, Visiting Professor of Music (Euphonium) at Indiana University Jacobs School of Music, and Boston University as Euphonium Artist in Residence. She also is on the faculty of the America Band College in Ashland, Oregon. Dr. Robertson is Past President of the International Tuba Euphonium Association and the International Women’s Brass Conference. She is a member of the world-famous Brass Band of Battle Creek, the New Sousa Band, the Blossom Festival Band, and has performed with the Boston Symphony Orchestra, the Detroit Symphony Orchestra, Arkansas Symphony Orchestra, and the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra. Robertson is a founding member of SymbiosisDuo with Dr. Stacy Baker. The duo tours and performs nationally and internationally and just released their third CD, Dreams, Dances, and Destinations. Gail performed for ten years with the Tubafours at Walt Disney World. Robertson’s euphonium of choice is a Willson 2950TA and bronze Warburton/Robertson mouthpiece.</image:caption>

      <image:caption>TIMOTHY J. NORTHCUT is Professor of Music and Instructor of Tuba and Euphonium at the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music (CCM), where he also serves as Music Director/Conductor of the CCM Brass Choir. A three-time recipient of CCM’s Ernest N. Glover Outstanding Teacher Award (1997, 2003, 2010), he was further recognized with the University of Cincinnati’s Mrs. A. B. (Dolly) Cohen Award for Excellence in University Teaching in 2003 and named one of Ohio’s Top 100 Educators in Ohio Magazine. From 1998-2001, he was Executive Director of the Rafael Mendez Brass Institute, an international seminar for brass musicians in collaboration with Summit Brass, America’s premiere large brass ensemble. In 2008, he served as Artistic Director and Host of the 2008 International Tuba Euphonium Conference. Currently, Tim performs as Principal Tuba with the Dayton Philharmonic Orchestra and is a member of both the Carillon Brass Quintet and Summit Brass. His career also includes service as a member of The United States Army Field Band (Washington, DC), along with numerous solo and chamber music engagements. Tim holds a Bachelor of Science in Music Education from Tennessee Technological University, a Master of Music in Performance from The Catholic University of America and has completed coursework toward a Doctor of Musical Arts degree at Arizona State University. Tim attributes his success to the mentorship of his teachers: James Garrett, R. Winston Morris, Harvey Phillips, David Fedderly, Warren Deck and Daniel Perantoni.</image:caption>

      <image:caption>With his orchestral playing praised as “a rock-solid foundation” and his solo playing described as being “remarkable for both its solid power and its delicacy,” Aaron Tindall is the the principal tubist of the Naples Philharmonic, the professor of tuba and euphonium at the Frost School of Music – University of Miami, and the tuba professor at The Colburn School in Los Angeles, California. In the summers, he teaches and performs at the Festival Napa Valley in Napa, California and at the Eastern Festival of Music in Greensboro, North Carolina, where he also serves as principal tuba with the EFM Festival Orchestra under the direction of Gerard Schwarz. Aaron has previously served as the principal tubist of the Sarasota Orchestra, the acting principal tubist of the Iceland Symphony Orchestra, held the principal tuba position with the Aspen Festival Orchestra where he was an orchestral fellow and has collaborated as guest tubist with orchestras such as the Los Angeles Philharmonic, Chicago Symphony Orchestra Brass, Teatro alla Scala Opera and Ballet Orchestra, Milan, Italy, Melbourne Symphony Orchestra, Australia, Baltimore Symphony Orchestra, Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra, Colorado Symphony Orchestra, The Florida Orchestra, National Symphony Orchestra-Kennedy Center, New Jersey Symphony Orchestra, New World Symphony, Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra and the Utah Symphony. He is a frequent soloist, guest artist/clinician and orchestral tubist throughout the United States, Europe and Asia. He has been featured at a majority of the International Tuba and Euphonium conferences since 2006, performed in England with the National Champion Grimethorpe Colliery Brass Band and his solo playing has been heard on NPR’s Performance Today radio show. Aaron has been a prizewinner of many competitions (solo and chamber) across the world. He has also been a two-time finalist in the prestigious Concert Artist Guild Competition, and released four highly acclaimed solo recordings — Yellowbird (solo tuba and jazz piano trio), Transformations (winner of the International Tuba Euphonium Association’s Roger Bobo Excellence in Recording award and winner of two 2017 Global Music Awards), This is My House… (awarded two 2015 Global Music Awards) and Songs of Ascent. Many of his students have obtained prestigious principal positions with the top professional orchestras in the U.S. and Canada, and also in the premier military bands of Washington, D.C., West Point, and the U.S. Coast Guard. They are also frequent prizewinners at various national and international solo and chamber music competitions.       <image:caption>KATHLEEN AYLSWORTH BRANTIGAN is Artistic Director and, along with her husband, Chuck, founder of The Denver Brass.  She formerly served as Adjunct Assistant Professor of Music at the University of Denver Lamont School of Music. As a professional tubist, Kathy performed more than 80 concerts annually with The Denver Brass and the recital quintet, Denver Brass5, as well as with the Summit Brass at the annual Rafael Méndez Brass Institute. Kathy has been the Executive Producer of more than 20 recordings by The Denver Brass, heard on the Delos, Centaur, Klavier and Denver Brass labels. She is actively involved with the International Tuba-Euphonium Association, serving as its treasurer from 1999 through 2008, and as Host of the 2006 International Tuba-Euphonium Conference at the University of Denver.</image:caption>

In addition to her active freelance career, she is also the organist at Church of the Epiphany in Tempe, Arizona and the owner of Classic Touch Music Academy where she teaches nearly fifty piano students a week.</image:caption>

In 2012, she was selected Conference Director of the prestigious international Rafael Méndez Brass Institute. Becky holds an MBA with specialization in Sports &amp; Entertainment Management from the University of Colorado Denver, and received her undergraduate degree from the University of Denver’s Lamont School of Music, with minors in business and leadership studies. A Colorado native, Becky is proud to be contributing to the growth and development of music and the arts in the Denver-metro region. She lives in Georgetown with her husband, Scott, and spends the little free time she has skiing, biking, quilting and practicing her horn.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Percussion Faculty - Michael Van Wirt</image:title>
      <image:caption>MICHAEL VAN WIRT joined the percussion section of the Colorado Symphony in 2015. He has performed with the Houston Symphony, Indianapolis Symphony, Colorado Music Festival, and was a New World Symphony Fellow. Michael was also a member of Seraphic Fire’s Firebird Chamber Orchestra, serving as timpanist from 2012-2015. He is an alumnus of the Aspen Music Festival, Colorado College Summer Music Festival, and the Alan Abel Summer Percussion Seminar. Michael holds degrees from the University of Denver and the University of Miami. As an educator, Michael has taught at the Lamont School of Music Summer Academy, the Colorado College Summer Music Festival, and was Artist-in-Residence at the University of Northern Colorado. Michael also participates in the Colorado Symphony’s education and outreach programs, including the Master Mentor, Mini Musica, and Canta y Baila Conmigo programs. He is currently head of the percussion department at the Lamont School of Music at the University of Denver, where he teaches percussion, timpani, and directs the Lamont Percussion Ensemble. Michael and his wife Elizabeth perform regularly as a percussion duo, including performances at the University of Denver, Regis University, and the Colorado Symphony’s Drums of the World concert. He is a Zildjian performing artist and clinician. In his free time, Michael enjoys skiing and hiking, completing the Colorado Trail in the summer of 2012.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Percussion Faculty - Elizabeth Van Wirt</image:title>
      <image:caption>ELIZABETH VAN WIRT performs regularly as an orchestral percussionist, chamber musician and soloist. Recent engagements include the Colorado Symphony, Kansas City Symphony, Dallas Symphony, Grand Teton Music Festival and Colorado Music Festival. Elizabeth was the 3rd prize laureate of the prestigious Universal Marimba Competition 2011 in Belgium. She is recorded as a soloist on Ney Rosauro’s disc Early Mallet Works and was featured on the 2016 album Onyx released by the Society of Composers, Inc. In addition to her varied performance career, Elizabeth has maintained a schedule of teaching both privately and in classroom settings and is the Applied Percussion Professor at Regis University in Denver. She holds two degrees from the University of Miami Frost School of Music and a master’s degree from the Manhattan School of Music. Elizabeth lives in Denver, Colorado, and is a proud artist and endorser of Yamaha instruments and Vic Firth sticks and mallets.</image:caption>
